On August 21st, sixteen days into the complete blockade of Kashmir, the UN Democracy Fund, without a hint of shame, posted this photo on Twitter saying, “The world’s largest democracy presents its annual contribution to the UN Democracy Fund in a meeting between Anjani Kumar & UNDEF Executive Head Savill Annika.”

UNDEF was actually initiated in 2005 by India & the US under then UN Secretary General Kofi Annan who before his death in 2018 rendered invaluable whitewash services to Suu Kyi & the generals for the Rohingya genocide. According to the Fund’s mandate, it “supports projects that strengthen the voice of civil society, promote human rights & encourage participation of all groups in democratic processes.” Tell that to the Kashmiris.

Muzzammil Ayyub Thakur, director of World Kashmir Freedom Movement, tweeted, “Apparently it costs an annual contribution of $100,000 to whitewash India’s war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide & ethnic cleansing in Kashmir.”

Just a brief insight into what the blockade means for healthcare in Kashmir. This is what the Hindutva crowd are trying to keep from exposure by reports from The Lancet, British Medical Journal, & Médecins Sans Frontières.

An Assadist named Maytham Alashkar is celebrating the return of tourism to Syria, including to Palmyra, Homs, Aleppo. “Syria is getting its tourism groove back,” he gloated. Among photos of tourists returning to Aleppo, he posted this one of Italian tourists holding up the flag of CasaPound Italy, a fascist party with 6,000 members.

According to one analyst, CasaPound (named after poet Ezra Pound who supported fascism) wants to redefine fascism as a movement to overcome the dichotomies of right-wing & the left. Was there ever a better representation of Assadism which is a rancid ideology & movement merging Stalinism, libertarianism, sectarianism, fascism, & the corrupt, aging couch potatoes of the left? We can predict that visiting war-torn Syria, where most historical sites are now rubble, will be a tourism hot spot for those political forces to gloat over the defeat of the Syrian Arab Spring uprising & victory for the self-determination of the Assad dictatorship.

Dr. Omar Salim, a urologist at the Government Medical College in Srinagar, has been arrested by Indian occupying authorities for warning that the three-week curfew & communications blackout in Kashmir would lead to critical medication shortages & deaths.

It makes sense that Eva Bartlett is now in the Crimea on Putin’s behalf attempting to find evidence that there is no opposition to Russia’s 2014 occupation & annexation of the Crimea & if there is opposition that it is ‘jihadi terrorists’. That’s her schtick as a fascist & professional propagandist for the Assad dictatorship & Putin.

But Bartlett has an ally now in Trump who gave a press conference at the G7 in France lobbying for Russia to be invited back into the G7 after it was expelled for the annexation of the Crimea. He ignored the illegal occupation & annexation & in a deranged non sequitur blamed the expulsion on Obama who was “outsmarted” & “embarrassed” by the annexation & on Obama’s warning to Syria not to use chemical weapons against civilians.

Now, as one Kashmiri has asked, ‘if Russia was expelled from G7 for annexing Crimea, how on earth did Modi get invited to the G7 for doing the exact same thing to Kashmir’? When Trump has the only consistent policy on illegal occupation & annexation at the G7–seeing it as real estate deals rather than human rights & war crimes–isn’t to time to recognize that body for what it is? It’s an economic & political association of seven countries–Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK, & US, whose purpose is to deal with the antagonisms & crises of capitalism, not with human rights.

After meeting with Modi at the G7 meeting going on in France, Trump the amoral halfwit who is collaborating with Israel to accelerate ethnic cleansing & genocide against Palestinians, said, “We spoke last night about Kashmir. Prime Minister [Modi] really feels he has it under control. They speak with Pakistan & I’m sure that they will be able to do something that will be very good.” Does anyone still look to the US to ‘mediate’ Kashmiri self-determination?

Modi responded, “All issues between India & Pakistan are bilateral in nature, that is why we don’t bother any other country regarding them….India & Pakistan were together before 1947 & I’m confident that we can discuss our problems & solve them together.” Where are the Kashmiris in that equation? Mute spectators to their own fate?
