There is almost a complete news blackout on the refugee crisis in the Mediterranean where hundreds of African refugees continue to drown. It probably seems grotesque to find something heartwarming in all that but this story of Spanish firemen ignoring EU laws to rescue refugees is a testament to humanity. Those who get so heated about Brexit need remember that this barbarism is EU policy.

Fox News commentators are all over the story when they have done nothing but run interference for Trump’s sexual vulgarities & predations. Mr. inappropriate touchy-feely probably just joked away any chance of being president. One fool down, several more to go.
Trump warning Mexico to stop drug trafficking is a dog & pony show to disguise his barbarism against refugees. Messing with the cartels & their colleagues in the Mexican government is one thing. Messing with the US banks laundering multi-trillions in drug money is quite another. Many banks would collapse & send the US economy into a tailspin.
