This little Iraqi girl cries as she flees Mosul where “bombs are falling like rain” from drone aircraft. ISIS & the US are both using drones over a civilian population so although media reports the carnage is caused by ISIS-launched drones, there are also reports of the damage done by US bombs. Both are turning Mosul into a killing field. It isn’t reported which country is supplying ISIS with drones but the US & Israel are the largest manufacturers & exporters.

There is no liberation from ISIS by US bombers. US out of Iraq & Syria.

Liberation US-style, Mosul, Iraq: nuance this, libertarians.

The libertarian left frequently calls for a “nuanced” view of Trump. Those who try to nuance Trump support his politics but wish he could deliver them without the obvious derangement & think he’d be more effective if he did less rant, less hate.

They echo the right-wing current represented by the Washington Times (WT), a newspaper owned by the Unification Church, called the Moonies after its founder Sun Myung Moon who revered himself as the second coming of Jesus.

In an op-ed piece titled “The scorning of Moscow: Trump adversaries would ruin a potential US-Russia anti-terror partnership,” The WT wrote:

“We are living in parallel realities, where the broad public is being daily exposed to a monolithic media assault on Mr. Trump & his foreign (read: Russian) policy, while the expert community of political scientists has in recent months opened up to very nuanced interpretations of Mr. Trump & even of the widely demonized Vladimir Putin.”

We aren’t living in parallel realities. It’s just that libertarians want to mask their political affinities with the right-wing obscurantist current of the Moonies. Scratch below the surface & it’s hard to tell the difference between Moonie-think, Global Research, Counterpunch, & Black Agenda Report.

So to the libertarian left-cum-obscurantist right-wing we would like to say, nuance this: more military aggression & bombing in more countries; increasing Islamophobic war mongering; a ban on & persecution of Muslims; vilifying refugees & immigrants; the border wall; refusing asylum to refugees & deporting millions of undocumented immigrants; destroying public education; cutting affordable housing; ending Meals on Wheels for seniors; more surveillance of US citizens; letting bridges & roads collapse; elimination of environmental protections; an executive order to proceed with the Keystone & Dakota Pipelines.

Nuance away libertarians. Fox News has a place for you.

Meals on Wheels for seniors will be cut to pay for drones & grants to privately owned charter schools to destroy public education. Funds for repairing roads & bridges that are falling down will be cut to increase funding to the FBI for counterterrorism operations. Affordable housing projects (already deficient by millions of housing units) will be eliminated to pay for deporting undocumented immigrants. Anything to do with environmental protection is gone.

We have a fight on our hands. Hopefully we were all watching the Arab uprisings to see how things are done. We’re a little rusty & need to understand how they succeeded & how they were out-maneuvered.

Partly they were set back, are being violently repressed or bombed to smithereens because international solidarity is so completely lacking. They were on their own in monumental, historic battles against dictatorship. The libertarian left that denounces them as fake news & “jihadi” operations & also opposes protests against Trump as useless & “Dem-Lib” melodrama need to be ignored as cranks & dead wood–at best

We have a fight on our hands.

Trump’s struggles with coherence & his facility with hatred makes you realize that without the inherited wealth & squadrons of lawyers to manage it, he’d be an object of pity. His sycophants would desert him & he’d ranting to his bellybutton. Cool.

Geert Wilders–the extreme right-wing Dutch politician & “Trump fanboy” with the bleached blonde pompadour who considers Islam a fascist ideology–just lost the general election he was expected to win. The turnout to the polls was 82-percent, the highest in 31 years so the desire to trounce him was high.

This woman casting her vote at a mosque in Amsterdam is one of those who gleefully handed Wilders his ass.

Now if the US Congress can just get its act together to investigate Trump’s financial connections to other countries & his back channel negotiations with Russia we could nail his ass for treason. Pence won’t be one whit better than Trump politically so some think we should keep Trump whose deranged outbursts expose the character of the US government. There are other ways to get the picture that don’t involve listening to racist vituperations against immigrants, Muslims, Blacks & Latinos.

An Iraqi man fleeing the battle between Iraqi ground forces, US drone bombers, & ISIS fighters on a rainy day in western Mosul:
According to media reports, over 100,000 civilians have fled Mosul. There is no accounting of civilians killed in the crossfire or by bombing nor of the men & boys detained by Iraqi soldiers as they fled.

ISIS needs to be defeated but it isn’t going to be with this kind of warfare which victimizes more civilians than ISIS fighters, or without ending the weapons supply to ISIS from other countries, including Russia & the US. It won’t be defeated by foreign armies not interested in human freedom but who are fighting out competing claims to control over the Middle East. It is time to think outside the Pentagon & Kremlin strategic death traps which have made a killing field of Iraq, Syria, Yemen.

Morning news cites Trump’s budget director that funding to the US military & “border security” will increase massively. To pay for that they will be slashing funds for the Environmental Protection Agency & all climate change initiatives; slashing funds to Health & Human Services; promoting charter schools to destroy public education; cut funding to National Endowment for the Arts.

Now with that perspective in mind for the working poor (especially Black, Latino, & Indian children), refugees & immigrants, those in Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Somalia, Libya, & African countries being hit with drone attacks, will the libertarian left in the US come to their damn senses? Or will they continue to pump out imbecilic condemnations of those who protest Trump’s policies without first making a ritual exorcism for voting for Obama & writing individual treatises on the betrayals of the Democratic Party?

This is the 6th anniversary of the beginning of the Syrian revolution. There are 5 million refugees outside the country, 6 million internally displaced, 13.5 million require humanitarian assistance, & nearly 500,000 have died.

Syrians have paid an incalculable price for standing against dictatorship without any solidarity from around the world. What happens to the Syrian revolution will never take away from the monumental struggle they continue against all odds. We are humbled before such courage.

Trump, no longer orange but looking like a tomato, just gave a rabid white nationalist, anti-refugee, anti-Muslim speech to great applause from a white audience. He had to raise the level of vituperations since he announced that a Hawaiian court just blocked his Muslim ban executive order which was set to take effect one minute after midnight.

Those who say we shouldn’t oppose Trump’s policies without repentance for being liberal & a wailing condemnation of Obama, the Democratic Party, & the imaginary deep state, must agree with this supremacist or they’d be as scared of his racism as the rest of us.

Meanwhile he can eat that Hawaiian court order.
