“Reports say 2387 detained or arrested under 700 cases by Delhi Police, with this number growing every hour. These are mostly young Muslim boys whose friends got killed, maimed, their houses burnt in the pogrom that has displaced around 3000 people. Those who planned it roam free and get their security enhanced. Those who openly and tacitly supported this go unchecked. This organized harassment by the establishment must stop.

The Delhi pogrom was effected in a cynically planned manner to crush and distort the ongoing democratic movement and conversations around CAA NPR NRC. So that possibilities of it’s democratic extension to all social bases and the dispossessed are curtailed. By mixing the poison of communal hatred and tearing down age old inter community solidarities. This won’t be allowed to happen, which much more people on the ground – in brutalized areas in north Delhi as well as in ongoing protests across the country – are continuing to show today with resilience and solidarity, than these anti-human forces can ever mobilize.”

“My beloved mother, as long as you give the occupier sleepless nights, your nights in prison are worthwhile.”

–Kashmiri Ahmed Bin Qasim, whose mother & father are both political prisoners

There has been a little invasion of Hindutva body snatchers using the laugh emoticon on the post “If you can’t understand what it feels like being Kashmiri in India, everyday it feels like a Jew living in 1933-45 Germany.” Being a vengeful woman, I will hunt you down & delete your ugly ass if you disrespect & laugh inappropriately on a post of such magnitude.

A Burmese court sentenced 15 Rohingya to two years in jail for attempting to leave the country without proper documents–documents they are unable to get because Burma denies they are citizens.

A heartbreaking report on premature newborns born to war-traumatized mothers in an Idlib hospital: it’s common for the obtuse to ask ‘why do women get pregnant in a war zone, if they are refugees, if they are poor’? The question is unworthy of an answer. But if one must respond, it is because even in the worst of circumstances men & women make love & want children together. The real question should be, ‘why are they being bombed, denied asylum, denied access to prenatal & natal care’?

Documenting Oppression Against Muslims (DOAM) reports that 10-year-old Palestinian Miral Abu Amsha died alone last Friday evening in a Jerusalem hospital because Israel barred her parents from leaving Gaza to be with her. May our little girl Rest In Peace.
