Solidarity means we all speak because Kashmiris cannot. We will not allow their struggle for #azaadi to be silenced. And when they return after the telecommunication blockade is lifted, they will know that their voices have not been silenced but amplified a thousandfold because of their work on social media starting many years ago.

This is a wonderful video of the #StandWithKashmir protest in Los Angeles where participants were interviewed. They are marvelously informed, outraged, worth listening to. At about 6:40, you can hear our own Jeff Neff, a long-time antiwar & human rights activist in the US, speak cogently against the siege.

Hollywood stands for Kashmir!

What does it say about me that I’ve been a political activist over 53 years & have never read an Immanuel Wallerstein article or book? Should I hang my head in shame though I’ve read plenty of other books? Does it make me an ignoramus or indifferent to political theory? Will someone stop repeating the mantras about his theoretical greatness & tell us what about his work is so revolutionary?

We can stop waiting around for the UN to do something about Kashmir. They’re still at the level of “watching closely” & aren’t even near shaking the naughty finger at India. Kashmiris have been waiting for 70 years for the UN to do something. It ain’t gonna happen anymore than the UN has done squat for Palestinians or the Rohingya. That’s why the consumer boycotts are so important. We don’t have to continue our delusional hopes in the UN but can strengthen Intifada by refusing to buy products coming from Israel, India, & Burma.

Has India noticed that #StandWithKashmir protests are not going away but are gathering geographical scope from one end of the planet to the other? Wait till it sees the #BoycottIndia movement set in. Combined with Kashmiri Intifada, now we’re talking Kashmiri political power.

We demand the immediate, unconditional withdrawal of all Indian troops, the immediate release of all political prisoners, & an immediate end to the use of pellet munitions.

The growing realization of affinities between the struggles of Kashmiris & Palestinians do not involve a competition or divided loyalties between the two solidarity movements. In fact, it will strengthen both freedom struggles by creating unity in action with Kashmiri & Palestinian speakers at rallies, panels, forums, united actions of all kinds. This new unity can give a double whammy to both the BDS & Boycott India movements, & even a triple whammy when combined & integrated with the boycott of Burma called by Rohingya solidarity activists. Those struggles are of a piece against the hateful gestalt of Islamophobic wars, occupations, genocides & in our solidarity actions, Kashmiri, Palestinian, Rohingya, Uyghur, Syrians can make their affinities absolutely clear & in the process strengthen all of their freedom struggles. If we do this right, there can be a new day dawning for suffering humanity everywhere.
