When the Syrian Arab Spring began in 2011, there were hundreds of videos pouring out of Syria every day & posted on social media showing protests of thousands tearing down posters of Assad which are a necessary part of dictatorship & the cult of personality that supports it. It wasn’t long before those videos from Syrians were shouted down by propaganda led by the fascist journal Global Research, socialist & antiwar groups losing their minds to support the ‘war on terror’, a chorus of professional propagandists masking their Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, & fascism behind progressive rhetoric, especially Palestinian solidarity, to champion the Assad dictatorship.
