The only problem with this article is calling India a ‘democracy’.

Some Indian knuckleheads are tweeting that protesters have a right to peacefully protest their opinions but their violence & disruption is undermining Indian democracy. Do you laugh, do you cry, or do you just write them off as political halfwits? Undermining Indian democracy is not grasping that the violence comes entirely from police attacks on unarmed protesters, not understanding that the occupation & lockdown of Kashmir & the legalization of persecuting Indian Muslims is a giant step toward fascism, & from not being out there with those protesters.
Kashmiri activists have often expressed indignation at the lack of active solidarity from Indian Muslims who have sustained horrific pogroms, mob violence, & lynchings. This article by Ashok Swain is quite useful in elaborating the role Indian Muslims are now playing in the struggle against the Citizenship Law & National Register of Citizens which legalize the persecution of Muslims. This can change the relationship of Indian Muslims to the Kashmiri struggle since they are now, beyond question, inextricably related.

Meet the three young women & one man student who took on Indian police in New Delhi to protect a mate who was being assaulted with truncheons. A video of the incident is in this article.
Uyghur activists & their supporters have launched a campaign against China hosting the Olympic games in 2022. At least theoretically, holding the games in a country with concentration camps counters the mythical spirit of the games. Although it didn’t prevent them from being held in fascist Germany in 1936. The campaign is part of pressuring China to shut down the concentration camps & end the persecution of Uyghur.

A Kashmiri policeman named Imtiyaz Hussain tweeted: “While being totally neutral on CAB, I just need someone to enlighten & educate me that, if GOI (India) grants citizenship rights to minorities having migrated to India before 2014 from neighbouring countries where Islam is a state religion, how does it affect the Muslims of our country?”
To which Parray Drfrq tweeted in response: “Could anyone make this dumb blockhead, anencephalic burro understand & figure out?”
With the exception of elitism & class snobbery, people’s personal quirks & annoying behaviors don’t really kick my intolerance into action. But their political compromises with oppression get my adrenalin pumping two-forty. If you are saluting the flag of the Assad regime despite the unimaginable torture he has inflicted on the Syrian people, you’re out of here & I make no apologies for it. Our friendship has apparently been a misunderstanding, at least for the last eight years of barbarism against the Syrian Arab Spring.
The more we understand the German fascist model used by India, Israel, & Burma, the better we understand the trajectory those countries are on in terms of genocide against Kashmiris, Palestinians, & Rohingya. In the cacophony of political disputes over how to analyze these events, it also places Assadists & Stalinists–many of whom began with denying the Nazi holocausts & ended up denying the Bosnian, Uyghur, & Rohingya genocides–within the political sphere where they operate, moving toward outright association with fascism.
Most of them have remained silent thus far about Kashmir & about the Citizenship Law against Muslims in India. Me thinks it is because Kashmiris & their supporters, including in India, have created a stronger position on social media from which to kick their asses. The support for Palestinians among these creeps has always been a political expedience to gain respectability in progressive circles & has done immense harm to Palestinian solidarity. Note that these forces have not done a damn thing to mobilize solidarity actions whilst Palestinians face genocide except campaign for Bernie Sanders who calls himself “100% pro-Israel”.
This article by Ziaur Rahman is about his 51-year-old maternal uncle, a Rohingya refugee living in a Bangladeshi refugee camp since 1992, who ‘has spent almost his whole life suffering from physical & mental health issues after being tortured by Myanmar armed forces in Buthidaung, a town in Rakhine state.’
