Remember last year when the UN put Saudi Arabia on the commission responsible for gender equality & the empowerment of women? Now the UN has appointed Syria the chair of a 65-nation UN disarmament conference on chemical weapons right in the midst of international furor over a gas attack on civilians in Douma. There have been at least 213 Syrian chemical gas attacks on civilians since 2011.

This is not just the era of alternative facts & post-truth truthiness. It is the barbaric phase of capitalism where human life is dirt cheap & expendable & where children become terrorists or propaganda props.
