Gotta say this letter on Kashmir by Ilhan Omar & six other US congressional representatives is not impressive. It’s pro forma ‘grave concern’, hand-wringing stuff. They don’t just have the same information we have but they also have US intelligence reports to draw on. They know exactly what is going on in Kashmir, the unspeakable crimes being committed & the fascist intentions of India. They even reference it as genocide but then conclude with ‘facilitate’, ‘urge’, ‘insist’, emphasize’ language when they should be demanding the immediate, unconditional withdrawal of all Indian troops, the immediate end of pellet guns & live ammo, & the immediate release of all Kashmiri political prisoners.
There are a lot of new Kashmiri pro-azaadi sites on Facebook that are providing invaluable information. It isn’t safe for many Kashmiris outside Kashmir to come out swinging since they have families in Kashmir that Indian forces would inflict merciless revenge on. Non-Kashmiris have a special responsibility to take up the mission Kashmiri activists have always played on social media but now cannot or are necessarily restrained. Those Kashmiri sites are a good place to get info & draw posts from.
No one wants to go all paranoid, but I am unable to post directly to Twitter. My Facebook posts automatically transfer to Twitter, albeit it in a half-assed way, & that continues, but if I want to highlight something or make sure all of my posts transfer coherently, I am unable to post. Despite India’s attempt to get my Twitter account shut down, I thought I was in the clear thus far. Now I’m not so sure. Are others having problems posting directly to Twitter? Is there a way I can find out why I’m unable to post?
UPDATE: I was repeatedly barred from posting the article on the Indian Army’s use of sexual torture, including sodomy, on Kashmiri political prisoners, as were several others who tried to post it. We found another way to share the article & I now have to admit I jumped to conclusions on being barred from posting on Twitter. Mea culpa. Amen.

Fascism has delusional aspirations as Hitler & his minions found out the hard way. India’s Foreign Minister Subrahmanyan Jaishankar just told a news conference that Azad Kashmir, the part of J&K controlled by Pakistan, belongs to India & that the Modi regime expects to take complete control over it at some point. The Modi regime is talking war with Pakistan when they haven’t been able to subdue resistance to colonial occupation in Kashmir.
The massive & several #StandWithKashmir protests in India point to the possibility of building an anti-colonial, antiwar movement in India & overcoming the impediments to that among progressive forces is an imperative political responsibility. Not an easy one, but an imperative one.
An Australian named Eberhard Frank whose parents were German immigrants to Palestine was born in Jaffa, Palestine in 1940 & always put that as his country of birth when he renewed his Australian passport. Last year when he did, the Australian government removed Palestine & replaced it with “unspecified” country of birth. He attempted to sue because he considered it an indignity & discrimination (it’s actually collusion with Israel to eradicate the history & people of Palestine) but through mediation, the government changed his country of birth to “Jaffa, British mandated Palestine,” as though it weren’t a real country.

Does anybody really want to hear what British lowlife Katie Hopkins has to say about Kashmir & Modi? It’s a three-minute rah-rah for the siege & blockade where she chirps deranged, full of hatred for Muslims, Kashmiris, working people, blithering the Pandit rubbish, & up to her stinking eyeballs in lies. Posting it on my wall would require the services of an exorcist who don’t come cheap these days so if you want to get your adrenalin pumping, you can look it up on YouTube under Katie Hopkins on Kashmir. Take my word, stinking, rotten Hopkins is not worth wasting adrenalin over. She’s the epitome of bat manure.
The Gates Foundation is standing by its decision to give an award to Modi this month for building public toilets in India even though he is also orchestrating persecution of Muslims & oppressed castes in India & is bringing fascism to the country. Not to mention the siege of Kashmir. Well that decision is a good thing since honorifics are for the most part worthless anyway. In this case, any confusions about the politics of the Gates Foundation, which operates as secretly as the CIA, are eliminated & its associations with repressive policies & regimes stand exposed. It’s about time all that got exposed & cleared up. There should come a time when the Gates Foundation gets prosecuted for crimes against humanity, primarily against women, farmers, & the environment.
If you go to the Facebook wall of Resistance Axis Kashmir, you can find several remarkable videos of protests in Kashmir, some in Srinagar, others outside the capital city. The men are wearing black because the protests on September 10th are during the 10-day long period of Muharram/Ashura, an Islamic mourning commemoration. Even with a million troops, India is going to have ferocious resistance to colonial occupation & genocide.
