There’s a very special artistic genre called “selfies” & you never view them without admiring the vanity of human beings. Which apparently is immense, as it is hilarious. Before the selfie, who knew this closet vice was so extreme?

These are Bahraini Muslims in the village of Sanabis posing for their selfie. They’ve just been through a few years of wrenching social upheaval & extreme police repression but why let that stand in the way of vanity?

You’ve gotta love the follies of the human race.
