Why is India ranked 102 out of 117 countries in the Global Hunger Index? As low as most sub-Saharan countries from whence millions of African refugees are fleeing from war & neoliberal plunder? Because neoliberal economics combined with Indian militarism, especially the occupation of Kashmir with nearly one-million troops, costs a bundle that cannot be used for schools or food programs. The international antiwar movement is not entirely dead since Turkish protesters are opposing Turkey’s genocidal war against the Kurds & thousands around the world, including in India, are protesting India’s genocidal occupation of Kashmir. The beginnings of rebuilding a principled antiwar movement begin with those activists.

12-year-old Palestinian Khaled Ghannam was arrested today by Israeli occupying forces. There’s a reason Black youth in the US, Palestinian, & Kashmiri youth are targeted to terrorize & brutalize. The forces of oppression have hopes that by brutalizing & even killing young people they will end resistance. They vilify children as terrorists to justify the violence.
