Why is India ranked 102 out of 117 countries in the Global Hunger Index? As low as most sub-Saharan countries from whence millions of African refugees are fleeing from war & neoliberal plunder? Because neoliberal economics combined with Indian militarism, especially the occupation of Kashmir with nearly one-million troops, costs a bundle that cannot be used for schools or food programs. For capitalism in its barbaric phase, economic exploitation comes before human welfare. That’s how barbarism rolls.
