In the past week, Facebook has suspended Assad propagandists Vanessa Beeley, Eva Bartlett, & RT for spreading fake news. Of course all three of them are fountainheads of the stuff. They typify the worst of it & in many ways brought this campaign against fake news down on the rest of us by their harping on it for years.

But these suspensions are nothing to applaud because censorship starts at the weak points & works its way to those who don’t invent apologetics & propaganda for Assad but do tell the truth about political struggles. Palestinians, Kashmiris & their supporters well know how Facebook censorship operates.

This is something of concern even though it’s hard to work up any sympathy for them because the eventual target is the rebels against Trumpism & not its supporters like Beeley, Bartlett, & RT.
