They’ve stopped talking about all the celebrities who contracted it & have top-rate medical care because of its overwhelming threat to & impact on refugees, political prisoners, the Black community, the urban poor who have almost no medical care. Israeli occupying forces & settlers have used the time to accelerate assaults on Palestinians; Indian occupying forces are escalating violence against Kashmiris & Indian media are whipping up ‘coronajihad’ hysteria in India; Rohingya refugees are still denied access to the internet.
We can’t let this quarantine put us at a disadvantage in campaigning against such predations but led by tech-savvy youth must find social media ways to stand with the oppressed. No human being is alien to us, even at a time of coronavirus.
