Tirana Hassan from Amnesty said their investigators spent “just a few days” in Arakan state & used “independent translators.” Independent of whom? How did Amnesty know who to contact for translation? How rigorous an investigation can you do in a few days? How did Amnesty know that a massacre of Hindus had taken place & how did they know where to go & who to interview about it? Hassan said any suggestion that Amnesty colluded with the Burmese genocidaires is “inappropriate & quite absurd” but she still has not explained how Amnesty investigators gained access to Arakan when UN & other human rights investigators are barred entry. Who gave them the permission & papers to travel there & were any conditions placed on them?
