This is one of the now rare articles on Kashmir. But notice that it has little real news about what is going on there. Judging by an interview with one international journalist who went there early in the current siege, they’re afraid because soldiers are every few feet & so apparently they no longer report from there. What’s interesting is that despite nearly a million Indian soldiers, Kashmiris are out protesting for a restoration of the internet. Brave ones protest where cowards fear to tread.

Trump is threatening to bomb 52 Iranian cultural sites if Iran retaliates. Iran is retaliating. Against Syrian & Iraqi civilians.
Demand no US war against Iran. Demand the immediate cessation of Syrian & Russian bombing & the immediate, unconditional withdrawal of US-NATO, Russian, Iranian, Hezbollah forces & mercenaries out of Syria & Iraq.

Today, Syrian bombers killed nine civilians, including two children, in Ariha city, Idlib province. Here a White Helmet rescue worker is overcome with grief as she holds a child who was killed. Assadists & Stalinists support this slaughter but are grieving the death of Iran’s terrorist master-mind Suleimani. The international antiwar movement must be rebuilt on a principled basis that makes no compromise with militarism & counterrevolution.
Demand the immediate cessation of Syrian & Russian bombing & the immediate, unconditional withdrawal of all foreign military forces & mercenaries from Syria.

Iran retaliated against the US assassination of terrorist general Suleimani by slaughtering 24 Syrian civilians as they herded sheep near Raqqa.
–reported by Syrian activist Asaad Hanna
Protesters in Tahrir Square, Baghdad, are chanting against both US & Iranian intervention. That’s why US troops were deployed. Iran & the US are on the same side in Iraq & in Syria.
The Pentagon reports that 3,500 US soldiers have been deployed to Iraq. The actual numbers deployed are likely much higher. It is Iraqis who will pay the price for US recklessness & criminality in assassinating the terrorist Iranian general. It is not, as some have said, ‘just one asshole killing another’; it is an act of war for which Iraqis, Syrians, Afghans, Yemenis, & Iranians will pay the price.
Demand the immediate, unconditional withdrawal of all US troops & mercenaries from Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen, Somalia.
NYC protest against the police & mob attacks on students at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi. This is a chance to stand against the Indian occupation of Kashmir, the legalization of pogroms against Indian Muslims, & the extreme violence used to accomplish Indian fascism.

Assadists & Stalinists are weeping crocodile tears over the assassination of General Suleimani, the master-mind of Iranian death squads in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, & Yemen. The so-called antiwar rallies they’re holding are mostly eulogies & tributes to Suleimani’s terrorism. But they have not held a single protest in years against the slaughter of thousands of civilians in any of those countries & they have justified the slaughter by calling the civilians terrorists. Nor have they called for the immediate withdrawal of Russian, Iranian, US-NATO, Hezbollah, Saudi-coalition forces. Their political corruption is irredeemable & goose-stepping its way toward alliance with the emerging forces of fascism around the world.
Many are claiming the decision to assassinate General Suleimani was an electoral stunt or a ploy on Trump’s part to deflect attention from his impeachment. He is entirely self-serving & venal but he is the front guy for American capitalism, a massive system with political, economic, & military entanglements all over the world. He speaks for a section of the capitalist class who stroke his ego & manipulate his vanities to accomplish their goals. According to reputable reports, the proposal to assassinate Suleimani originated in the Pentagon, not Trump’s inner circle of halfwits like Kelly Conway or Steve Miller. The capitalists yanking Trump’s strings & their think tank advisers (including Kissinger) are reckless but they would not allow Trump’s perversities to jeopardize their long-term strategies in the Middle East or anywhere else. US political & military policy is not personal according to which president is in office. That’s a delusion that pumps life into the corruption of lesser evil politics.
