An untitled work by Rollie Mukherjee whose remarkable art has long expressed support for the Kashmiri freedom struggle & paid tribute to the role of Kashmiri women.

This video of a young Pakistani woman fearlessly challenging Indian actress Priyanka Chopra’s nationalism on Indian war threats against Pakistan over Kashmir (in February of this year) is worth watching. Chopra’s representatives grabbed the mic so the woman could not speak & Chopra responded by patronizing her & talking new age nationalism. You won’t see Chopra the same way after this deplorable display of nationalism.

Priyanka Chopra called out as ‘hypocrite’

A Pakistani woman called out Indian actress Priyanka Chopra for “encouraging a nuclear war against Pakistan” during a serious escalation of conflict between the neighbouring countries.

What is the word to describe the Kashmiri struggle for freedom? Indefatigable? Fearless? Invincible? International media which has journalists on the ground in Kashmir report that protests continue despite the deployment of nearly 100,000 troops on top of the 700,000 already there & despite Indian forces using pellet guns, rubber bullets, & tear gas shells against unarmed protesters.

As the Modi regime continues to force India to be a Hindu nation & Kashmir to be a subjugated bantustate, it becomes more important to understand how India has propagandized & will use the Kashmiri Pandit (Hindu) issue against Kashmiris. To #standwithKashmiris, we need to understand the issue & not believe the propaganda that Kashmiri Muslims forcibly expelled Pandits but that their flight in the 1990s was solely the work of the Indian government & their local Kashmiri collaborators. This article is a useful explanation.

“My name is Mohammed Matter, I am from Palestine and I fully support the people of Kashmir.”

If you go to about 6:53, you can hear Kashmiri poet Rafiq Kathwari make some very cogent & powerful points in this debate with a nationalist.

Jeremy Corbyn tweeted this pretty harmless, Bernie Sanders kind of statement on Kashmir & he was trolled by nearly 6,000 British & Indian nationalists:

“The situation in Kashmir is deeply disturbing. Human rights abuses taking place are unacceptable. The rights of the Kashmiri people must be respected and UN resolutions implemented.”

Magnificent tribute to the Kashmiri struggle for #Azaadi by Rollie Mukherjee:

“Bertolt Brecht: “The cries fall like rain in summer…even evil doing comes like falling rain…there was a blanket of silence nobody calls out “stop” when crimes begin to pile up they become invisible. When sufferings became unendurable the cries are no longer heard. The cries fall like rain in the summer”
