So many of the films about prostitution & sex trafficking are done as a form of pornography rather than as protest. Misogyny is a deeply disturbed ideology. Women who endorse this crap as sex positive don’t understand the deranged power relationships involved.

Now we’re talking courage: in the midst of a telecommunications blockade, mass arrests, & surrounded by one-million troops, Kashmiri journalists come out to protest. The spirit of azaadi is transformative.
My generation of feminists were not In to that reclaiming hate language stuff. We never referred to other women as bitches, whores, sluts or other degrading terms. Consequently, our repertoire of abuse expanded & became gender neutral. An ass is an ass. If you call me a bitch on my wall as a political argument, I assume you are intellectually impoverished & are just attempting to see me squirm in discomfort. Instead, it gets my feminism into its ass-kicking mode & you are escorted away on the end of my foot.
When you rescue a dog off the streets, it takes them a long time to feel part of a family. They keep trying to escape by making a run for it every time they find an opening, including the car window. Two of my worst runners now operate as little shepherd herders when a new one tries to run. I signal & they chase down & corner the runner for me. At some point, they all make a choice not to run, that they’re safe & have a place to belong. The last time one of my shepherds took off, she stopped in the street, looked ahead, looked back at me in pursuit, & then came waddling back. You can never get the rascal out of a dog so they still love to run once in a while so you know who’s boss but they can’t wait to get back. Morning kisses help keep them assured.
