Even if there was validity to the deranged claim that there are no civilians in Idlib, it would be difficult to argue with me that bombing terrorists in Idlib is an acceptable military strategy for Syria & Russia. Who but a fool, a fascist, a political halfwit, or a Stalinist cultist allows monsters like Assad & Putin to determine who is & who is not a terrorist? It’s as bad as trusting the word of Trump, Modi, Suu Kyi, Duterte, or Xi.
There seems to be a respite in #StandWithKashmir protests this week. We can use the time to think out how best to build a strong #BoycottIndia movement. Those who worry that an economic & cultural boycott will create hardships for Indian workers should also consider the hardship caused Kashmiri workers by the genocidal blockade. In fact, what a boycott will most powerfully effect is Indian capitalism & undermine militarism which drains the economy so that India can’t even build a modern sanitation system. Most importantly, it can help bring an end to the blockade.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres “remains concerned” over the two-month blockade of Kashmir. “The secretary-general’s position in Kashmir has not changed,” his spokesperson said. He’s not ready yet to move to hand-wringing anguish or God forbid, denunciations.
Syria & Russia continue their strategy of bombing hospitals in Idlib while the Stalinist & Assadist cult led by Chomsky, Pilger, Fisk, Cockburn, Ali, Prashad continue to claim there are no civilians in Idlib & that only terrorists are being bombed to death.
