Homeless in Gaza

Homeless in Gaza August 13 2014

Israel & the US have a public relations catastrophe on their hands after tweets went round the world exposing ethnic cleansing in Gaza. It was certain their think tanks would work overtime to counter the images of Palestinian children. Anyone who’s ever tangled with a Zionist knows they’re a broken record of whining that anti-Zionism is anti-Jewish. Guilt-baiting is their stock-in-trade & often quite effective even though they wear it to death.

The Palestinian solidarity movement has made itself entirely clear: there is no room in this movement for anti-Semitism or racism of any kind. The political group who don’t seem to get that are libertarians. There are fifty different varieties of libertarians but the ones we’re speaking of are those who think David Duke, the white supremacist, anti-Semite, & former grand poobah of the KKK, has a place in our movement. Or the ones who get into the conspiracy of illuminati, Free Masons, & Rothschild bankers & think David Ickey-poo sincerely supports Palestinians.

We want to build an international movement where men & women of every hue are comfortable. Does anyone seriously think civil rights activists would be comfortable speaking on the same platform as David Duke who considers them inferior beings? You can say “enough with the harping on this question” but looking at media coverage of the Palestinian solidarity movement shows you cannot harp on this enough.

According to a 2005 report by the US State Department, anti-Semitic incidents have increased significantly since 2000, including harassment & intimidation; vandalism (graffiti, fire bombings of Jewish schools, desecration of synagogues & cemeteries); physical assaults. They noted the increase particularly in France, Germany, the UK, Belgium, & The Netherlands & they blamed it on far-right groups as well as “disadvantaged & disaffected Muslim youth”. It isn’t the most reliable report in the world because it confounds Palestinian solidarity with anti-Semitism but an increase of such incidents are a matter of grave concern. They did not report a rise of anti-Semitic incidents in the US.

One wonders if they did a comparative analysis of the rampant Islamophobia, persecution of Roma, & victimization of immigrants that prevail as state policy in some of those same countries–in particular France, Greece, & The Netherlands. Is the increase in anti-Semitism part of the general trend of political polarization & the rise of extreme right-wing goon squads or is it sui generis for some unexplained reason?

What’s emerging now among politicians & media are alarmist reports about the rise of anti-Semitism which they blatantly & shamefully link to Palestinian solidarity. The UN’s Ban Ki-moon, who couldn’t bring himself to condemn Israeli ethnic cleansing, issued one of the first volleys in this insidious campaign deploring anti-Semitic attacks in Europe since the genocide in Gaza began. Several media sources followed suit, denouncing anti-Semitism among Palestinian supporters, which they claim is evident & rampant on social media.

French politicians who are forcibly deporting Roma & attempting to ban Palestinian solidarity protests are up in arms about vandalizing & looting of Jewish businesses, burning of cars in Jewish neighborhoods, & clashes between Palestinian supporters & Jewish residents. They claim Palestinian supporters entered Jewish neighborhoods on more than one occasion chanting “Gas the Jews” & “Kill the Jews”.

French Prime Minister Manuel Valls, who has distinguished himself for xenophobia & forcible deportation of Roma says he was “profoundly shocked & revolted” by an incident in Paris which he claims turned violent when Palestinian supporters trapped Jews in a synagogue. One of those trapped later told Israeli TV that “the streets outside were “like an intifada”.”

Newsweek magazine, which has a history of inflammatory journalism, had an article titled ” “Exodus: Why Europe’s Jews Are Fleeing Once Again” about anti-Semitism in Europe & they described that incident at the Paris synagogue. The article began: “The mob howled for vengeance, the missiles raining down on the synagogue walls as the worshippers huddled inside.”–& went downhill from there. Even the French minister didn’t accuse Palestinian supporters of attacking the synagogue with missiles.

Newsweek drew on the most questionable sources for information about rising anti-Semitism: the Zionist Anti-Defamation League; Natan Sharansky, a Russian Zionist who administers settlers for Israel; & another schnook named Ben Cohen who says: “Saying that Jews are the only nation who don’t have the right to self-determination, smearing Israel as a modern incarnation of Nazi Germany or apartheid South Africa, asserting that the ‘Israel Lobby’ manipulates American foreign policy from the shadows is unmistakably anti-Semitism.” Who’s smearing who here!?

If these anti-Semitic incidents are real, that’s alarming; if Palestinian supporters are involved, that’s worse than reprehensible. But frankly, that’s highly doubtful & every attempt to smear Palestinian solidarity with this crap is slander intended to discredit justice. If there were “Palestinian supporters” harassing synagogues, let two words suffice: agents provocateurs.

It’s very likely there’s an increase of anti-Semitism in Europe as part of the political polarization in response to neoliberal austerity programs & the rise of neo-Nazi groups like Golden Dawn in Greece. We only wish such alarmism & concern included Roma & immigrants in France & elsewhere, & Palestinians under siege in Gaza.

Respond to the slanders against Palestinians & the solidarity movement with larger rallies & evangelize for the economic boycott of all Israeli products (barcode beginning 729).

Intifada lives amidst the rubble!

Palestinian flag in rubble August 13 2014

For the umpteenth time, media plays with truth in the caption to this photo of a bombed out home in Khan Younis, Gaza: “witnesses said was (it) destroyed in the Israeli offensive.” By hedging, Israel can make their “evil fairies from outer space did it” defense or claim it’s from a misfired Hamas rocket if it ever gets tried in an international tribunal for war crimes & crimes against humanity for Operation Ethnic Cleansing in Gaza.

The UN has started an investigation but it will certainly end as all the rest: letting Israel walk away scot-free from war crimes witnessed by the entire world. We can hold our own tribunals where evidence carries weight & hasbara is recognized as cartoon & called out for what it is: recycled 19th century racism & colonial hatred that views the colonized as sub-human.

Tons of cement have to be cleared with bulldozers & backhoes & it’s unlikely Israel, which controls & blockades Gaza, will allow delivery of that equipment by claiming Hamas will use it to build more tunnels. Meanwhile it’s extremely dangerous for people to be crawling around the shifting debris, but where else do thousands of homeless people go? UN refugee facilities were already inadquate when Israel bombed six of them. So people are now setting up camps & bedding in the midst of debris. You can see in the left background of this picture that someone has set up camp here. There’s no place to cook or bathe or even sit; no place for intimacy or privacy; for heaven’s sake, there’s no place to go the toilet. Prior to this onslaught the only local source of water (an aquifir) was 90% polluted. Gaza is barely habitable–which is exactly what Israel intended.

Still the most striking thing about this photo is the Palestinian flag in the midst of devastation. The Arabic word for “fortitude” must be “Palestinian” because intifada is not for the faint-hearted. Israel is still bombing in Gaza, having again broken it’s most recent ceasefire agreement. The sight of that flag symbolizing the spirit of resistance makes this man a target.

Apparently the original Hebrew name for Operation Protective Edge (the name Israel gave this phase of Operation Ethnic Cleansing) is “Tzuk Eitan” meaning “Mighty Cliff”. Isn’t that ironic because there is probably no more apt metaphor for the barbaric brinkmanship that has brought Israel to the edge of a mighty steep cliff–a cliff it is destined to go over.

Once again, Gaza looks like the apocalypse has been & gone. Support Palestinian justice & build the hell out of the economic boycott of all Israeli products (barcode beginning 729). Keep marching.

Gaza today looks like the apocalypse has been and gone

Gaza post-apocalyptic August 13 2014

One has to have a Jesuitical bent of mind to parse all the ceasefire proposals that have now been offered to Israel. We leave that nonsense to legal scholars cause there ain’t no peace in any of those proposals. In the diplomatic shell game, there are proposals from the UN Security Council; the Kerry-Obama gang; Cairo (which is currently persecuting Muslim Brotherhood members who have political affinity with Hamas); Qatar & Turkey, which includes participation of Mahmoud Abbas (who should have been on trial for treason in Palestine even before the onset of this phase of Operation Ethnic Cleansing). This is all a diplomatic charade which will not bring even an iota of justice to Gaza; which will not force Israel to stop bombing or give up the occupation of Gaza; & will not end the economic blockade of Gaza. So there’s nothing in it for Palestinians. The game is rigged to make Hamas appear unreasonable when it rejects diplomatic grandstanding & demands the minimum of justice.

We say proposals offered to Israel because Israel is the sole aggressor despite repeated claims that Israel only breached the latest phony ceasefire to retaliate when Hamas let off rockets–which they still cannot produce evidence for. They attribute the lack of evidence to the Iron Dome anti-rocket system. (Israel’s got an answer for everything.) But if the Iron Dome system is so effective, why in the hell is Hamas any problem at all to Israel? Why does Israel have to bomb alleged rocket bunkers in homes, schools, hospitals, markets, refugee centers if it has a system that can take those rockets down? And why in the hell would Hamas continue to launch rockets that don’t get past the apartheid wall?

Major media like the NY Times have all sorts of sources & stringers to determine the truth about these ceasefires–who’s breaching the agreements & how? The Jerusalem Fund, a Palestinian advocacy group in Washington DC, did a study of the ceasefire breaches & media coverage & found that in the period from November 2012 to July 2014, Israel committed 120 ceasefire violations, often involving Palestinian deaths, but the NY Times only reported 17 of these–& when they were reported, it is always as justified retaliation for Hamas rockets. One can question the objectivity of a Palestinian advocacy group when they accuse media of systematic failure to cover Israeli ceasefire violations but then you have to ask why the media doesn’t do it’s own investigation if it wants to report reliably rather than peddle propaganda.

Now is there any substance to the melodrama played out between Netan-psycho-yahu & the Obama-Kerry operation? Is there really five years of bad chemistry between Netan-psycho & Obama, as a Haaretz writer claims? Is Kerry a diplomatic blunderbuss or driven by “misplaced obsession & messianic fervor” to get peace as the Israeli defense minister claims? Is Obama really second-guessing Netan-psycho on Hamas? Did the US & Israel have a falling out over the ban of US flights (which lasted about half an hour)? One day Obama is reported enraged at Israel; the next day Netan-psycho is extremely furious & this little psychodrama gets played out in the media over & over again. Zionist media really get into this drama & take great umbrage at every supposed rebuff of Israel. But the truth of the matter is artillery talks louder than hissy fits. The US continues to bankroll Israel, including millions in weaponry for Operation Ethnic Cleansing in Gaza. The relationship between Israel & the US may be portrayed like a bad marriage but it is rooted in colonialism & neoliberal plunder & hasn’t a damn thing to do with bad chemistry.

If the US isn’t sweating Israeli overkill in Gaza it better start fast because the barbaric assault on Gaza has undone over 66 years of methodically orchestrated Exodus propaganda. Unsustainable contradictions within Israeli society compel it headlong & are unraveling the devil’s bargain Zionism made with colonialism. There’s a lot at stake for neoliberal colonialism in the MIddle East & Zionism, bankrolled as the guardian of that stake, is blowing it out of the water.

The only viable peace plan is the one proposed by Palestinians themselves & supported by hundreds of thousands of men & women around the world. For justice, there’s a whole list of demands but for now these will suffice: Stop the massacre & end the blockade of Gaza!

Out of the mouthes of psycho soldiers

%22You will be fucked...%22 August 13 2014

Out of the mouthes of psycho soldiers! The media caption to this photo thought the noteworthy thing was the military instructions in Hebrew written on the blackboard by Israeli soldiers at the Beit Hanoun, Gaza school for girls used by Israel as a military headquarters during Israel’s Operation Ethnic Cleansing. To those with an ounce of human decency “You will be fucked here if you come again. Don’t forget it’s time for you to die” is an ugly moment of truth far more significant than where you position your tanks.

They’re threatening to kill young girls, those they accuse Hamas & Palestinian parents of using as human shields. And here Israeli propaganda claimed they were trying to take out rocket bunkers & “attack tunnels”. They claimed they went to great lengths to avoid killing “civilians” by text messaging & dropping leaflets from planes minutes before the bombers hit. Now we’d like to know what exactly was in those text messages!? And they’re also threatening to rape the young girls like the Israeli professor suggested for a war strategy. In normal societies people would be institutionalized for promoting such criminal acts, not given tenure.

So is Israeli war propaganda all a pack of lies then!? Is it in fact just as inflammatory & racist as it appears to all those not drinking the Zionist kool-aid or nurtured on Zionist hatred? It also appears Zionist racism will be it’s own undoing–& we have to say, that won’t be a moment too soon.

Stand with Palestinians by demanding “Stop the slaughter in Gaza!” & “End the blockade of Gaza!” & build the hell out of the economic boycott of Israel (barcode beginning 729).

Is this a pothole or a rocket?

Rocket damage in Sderot (August 11 2014

In the interests of full disclosure we post this photo of alleged Hamas rocket damage in Israel. This photo from March 2014 has made media rounds because it appears to be one of the few extant since Israel began Operation Ethnic Cleansing in December 2008. We say alleged because it damn well might be a pothole or it could be the exit from one of those Hamas “attack tunnels” that tried to burrow it’s way to a kibbutz but took a wrong turn & ended up in a major thoroughfare. What makes the photo so curious is that it is identified as Sderot, Israel, the town where they’re cowering in direct line of Hamas rockets in the hills overlooking Gaza while they cheer on ethnic cleansing. Does this story add up to you?

This photo is from the Christian Science Monitor (CSM) whose coverage of genocide in Gaza distinguishes itself very little from the rest of media. That is regrettable because in the 1970s when Palestinians didn’t stand a snow ball’s chance in hell of having their voices heard, the CSM had a charitable or noblesse oblige attitude toward Palestinians–a sort of documenting a vanishing people approach. It’s not certain when that changed or if patronizing is preferable to outright hostility. But the same pothole appears in coverage by The Times of Israel–a piece of hasbara trash if there ever was one. Scanty documentation gets a lot of mileage from being passed around.

Moving from the trash to the burlesque of hasbara, Thomas Friedman, the NY Times columnist who’s always hiding out in hotel rooms during uprisings & gets the latest news from the hotel manager, claims he’s on a kibbutz near Tel Aviv. He claims he toured a Hamas “attack tunnel” near the kibbutz & was struck by the craftsmanship, “the way all the prefab concrete pieces were perfectly designed & fit together.” This assessment from a man who probably doesn’t know a tenon from a mortise.

Never a man to be outdone by his own idiocy, Friedman goes on: “This tunnel took years & millions of dollars to build & required diverting massive resources from civilian roads, buildings & schools. It had one purpose, & it was not fruit exports. It was to shuttle fighters into the kibbutz.” Did our intrepid investigative reporter think to snap a few pictures? Or does he expect us to rely on his word–which is worth mud? And has been worth mud for a very long time now. Why the NY Times keeps this unfortunate fool on speaks volumes about their judgement & their support for Israeli ethnic cleansing.

Israel is already launching it’s propaganda offensive to counter the truth exposed by a million tweets. To the hundreds of photos of Palestinian children they are countering with Israeli politicians on a dissembling mission. Yair Lapid, a news reader turned Israeli finance minister & secular liberal (which only means he abandoned Judaism for Zionism), has an article in the Huntington Post titled “The Betrayal of the Intellectual”. Lapid’s writing would be an illustration of those “mediocre intellectuals” Herzl proposed to do the spade work of colonialism in Palestine.

In chastising US & European intellectuals for failing Israel during it’s genocidal attack on Gaza, Lapid-less-than-lucid says: “For them, the Palestinians are suffering more & so they must be right. Why? Because they have turned suffering into the only measure of justice.” Not content to leave bad enough alone, he continues down this unfortunate path: “When Hamas forces civilians to stand on the roof of a building which is used as a terrorist command center despite knowing that the building will be attacked (and they know because we warn them), who are we to hold responsible? When Hamas places rockets & explosives inside UN schools & fires from within hospitals, who are we to hold responsible? When Hamas fires thousands of rockets & mortars at the cities of Israel and fails to kill hundreds of our children only because of our technological edge & the Iron Dome missile defense system should we blame ourselves for suffering less?” One can only stand in awe of the sheer cynicism, treachery, & racism of that defense for ethnic cleansing–which is the official line of Israel.

It’s highly unlikely the hundreds of thousands of Palestinian supporters in the streets demanding “Stop the slaughter in Gaza!” all identify themselves as intellectuals. Israel wasn’t betrayed by intellectuals but by men & women of good will who can distinguish between truth in journalism & racist rubbish.

Answer this rubbish with a thunderous international chorus of “Stop the slaughter in Gaza!” & “End the blockade of Gaza!” And boycott all Israeli products (barcode beginning 729).

Are there any brains left in hasbara-land?

Gaza Tunnel August 11 2014

The camera may turn out to be Israel’s worst enemy. If there are any brains left in hasbara-land they need to confiscate all cameras, eject photojournalists from the occupied territories, & censor what gets published because the photos coming out are worth a thousand lies. This one might be worth a few laughs.

The caption to this photo said: “Israeli soldiers stand next to a hole in the ground they suspect is connected to a tunnel, outside the Gaza Strip August 10, 2014.” Now to the rest of us it looks like a rabbit hole. And if it connected to an alleged “attack tunnel”, what harm could it posssilby do? Can Hamas launch a rocket from that hole? Can a Hamas fighter squeeze through it to attack a kibbutz in Israel? Is this the only evidence they can provide of those “attack tunnels” which they used to justify the carpet bombing of Gaza?

Truth of the matter is Israel has no documentation of a single accusation against Hamas except a few 20-second grainy shots of un-repaired potholes which might just as well be taken in Des Moines, Iowa–& not after a tornado. When you visit the Zionist sites promoting these grainy shots it’s observable they’ve abandoned all their critical faculties to justify genocide in Gaza. That utter dishonesty & psychic fracturing is a regrettable thing to witness & in the long run is part of Israel’s undoing.

Continue to tweet photos of Israeli carnage in Gaza; continue to tell the truth about genocide in Gaza. Keep marching & evangelize for the economic boycott of Israel (barcode beginning 729).

Zionism and Israeli mass psychosis

Amman Jordan (Aug 9 2014) August 10 2014

Israel’s been riding so high on that Exodus baloney they got reckless. They apparently thought they could make up any damn thing & it would be believed so they put the crackpots in charge of the hasbara factory. War propaganda went from nutty to kooky to outright insane–& that was just in the Knesset.

Zionism has produced massive psychosis in Israel, a cultural dry rot where politicians & bloggers call for genocide in Gaza without batting an eyelash; where women discuss if stuffing their faces with chocolate during this war will make them fat; where people move their parlor furniture to the hills of Sderot so they can cheer on ethnic cleansing & wave the Israeli flag.

For those who believe in social transformation, the corruption of Israeli society is not a promising sight but is deeply disturbing. What is heartening are the soldiers refusing to serve genocide in Gaza, the antiwar activists who stand with placards while they are denounced as traitors & attacked by goon squads as police stand by. To them our deepest respect for they are the only hope Israelis have. Many are discouraged at the odds against the dissidents. But those dissidents allied with Palestinians & African refugees are a formidable force–& that alliance is something the state of Israel will go to great lengths to prevent.

A historic shift has taken place internationally: hundreds of thousands of men & women of good will around the world have entered this conflict on the side of Palestinian justice. Those dissidents are no longer isolated; Palestinians no longer stand alone. These battalions are marching, speaking out, educating, agitating, & most of all evangelizing for the economic boycott (BDS) of all Israeli products. The contrast between the psychos in the hills of Sderot & the hundreds of thousands in the streets demanding “Stop the slaughter in Gaza!” could not be more regrettable from the point of view of Israeli war propaganda. Somebody from the hasbara factory should have been smart enough to go up to those hills, remove the furniture, & drag their bony asses home because it just doesn’t look good when people who claim they’re cowering from Hamas rockets are partying over ethnic cleansing.

The Zionist entity called Israel has to go. It isn’t salvageable nor is it reformable. That’s a daunting task but those who deem it impossible should have heard the jeremiads once so popular about the Soviet Union. Or the Roman Empire for that matter. What is needed is not another version of the two state scam where Israel stays put & Palestinians squat in refugee camps in bantustates. What is needed is justice & that means a democratic secular state where Jews & Palestinians can live in peace. Difficult? Indeed! Impossible? Absolutely not!

Palestinian justice is playing a transformative role in world history because it challenges centuries of racism, colonialism, & neoliberalism–the barbaric phase of capitalism. For those who ask, “What are the other Arab countries doing for Gaza?” the answer is two-fold: the other Arab regimes are mortgaged to the US Pentagon & have their heads stuck up Israel’s ass. But the people in those countries stand steadfast in their majority with Gaza. This is a photo of the Gaza solidarity rally in Amman, Jordan yesterday as part of Gaza Day of Rage.

Keep marching & evangelize for the economic boycott (BDS) of all Israeli products (barcode beginning 729).

The Guardian UK and Eely-Oily Weasel

Palestinian father August 10 2014

To say The Guardian (UK) newspaper is heads over US media isn’t very much flattery at all. Many amateur bloggers are as well. Without the Fourth Estate, there’s an entire class of well-educated ne’er-do-wells in both countries who’d be standing on street corners with tin cups. Instead they sing for their supper. The Guardian is an old newspaper that originated nearly 200 years ago in Manchester among non-conformist merchants & mill owners. Non-conformist does not mean radical but expressing a desire for a democratic press among the privileged middle classes. One working class paper referred to the Guardian as “the foul prostitute & dirty parasite of the worst portion of the mill-owners.” We don’t even want to know what that means.

It can be argued the paper has very useful coverage on a whole range of political subjects. But those who look to The Guardian for counsel on war, colonialism, or occupation are barking up the wrong tree. To cite only the more egregious of it’s views: it supported British occupation in Northern Ireland & defended British soldiers who shot down unarmed protesters in the Bloody Sunday massacre of 1972, claiming the IRA used protesters as human shields.

The Guardian also supported the US war against the “evil regime in Iraq” since it began in 1990 & agreed Iraq had to be disarmed of the fictional weapons of mass destruction.

In 1948, The Guardian supported the new state of Israel. C.P. Scott, the editor at that time had links to Zionism through his friendship with Chaim Weizmann, president of the British Zionist Federation & the World Zionist Organization, & later first president of Israel in 1949. That was then, this is now. But while articles now by Seumas Milne (a columnist & associate editor) call genocide in Gaza what it is, much of The Guardian coverage of Gaza has hasbara written all over it.

Now some are actually shocked The Guardian would agree to publish the scurrilous ad by Eely-Oily Weasel (known best by his stage name Elie Wiesel) accusing Palestinians of using their children as human shields, or “child sacrifice” as this former terrorist calls it. Weasel won the Nobel Peace Prize for lying & deserves an Oscar for his performance as grieving holocaust survivor. He draws on the Bible & the holocaust to make his odious imputations against Palestinian parents.

There was  a petition to The Guardian condemning The Guardian’s decision to publish Eely-Oily Weasel’s ad which garnered thousands of signatories.

Those who think Weasel wears a halo & fall for his phony tears ought to read the condemnation of Israeli ethnic cleansing in Gaza by dozens of holocaust survivors who recognize Zionism as a rancid devil’s brew of racism & colonialism. One of the most powerful indictments of Weasel’s ad is from a former officer in the Israeli military who doesn’t buy the sanctimony for one moment & excoriates that ad.Once again, we only intrude on this man’s grief in response to the odious lies of St. Weasel. This is the father of one of the four boys torpedoed to death on July 16th as they played football on the beach.

Switch and bait war photography

Israeli soldier August 10 2014

The caption to this photo read “An Israeli soldier eats a piece of watermelon near the Israeli-Gaza border on July 25, 2014.” Now the least interesting thing about this picture is the watermelon or what day the soldier ate it.

The only thing of interest in the photo is the size of those artillery casings used in the tank & troop assault on Gaza. That’s what they tore people in half with; that’s what indicts Israel for war crimes.

Some can say, “Aw come off your high horse, this is just a nice shot.” Maybe, but it’s reminiscent of the half-baked Zionist settler in Israel who worried if the war would make her fat: another instance of the evil of banality.

Israeli war propaganda moves from cheering genocide to phony angst

Gaza- shrapnel car August 9 2014

When you think you’ve heard it all in Zionist propaganda, think again. This Palestinian boy is playing inside the carcass of a car shrapneled to death in the residential neighborhood of al-Shejaea of Gaza City. Israeli hasbara claims it warned residents (through automated phone calls, text messages, & leaflets dropped from planes) to evacuate their homes before it bombed them into smithereens. So when Palestinians ran to pick up a leaflet or evacuated their homes were they then shrapneled to death by the same kind of artillery barrage that destroyed this car?

Zionist media & apologists are having a hell of a time trying to clean up the propaganda disaster of hundreds of Palestinian “civilians” & children slaughtered like fish in a barrel. They’re trying first to minimize the numbers killed & claim the death toll is under dispute, as if Palestinians jack up the numbers for sympathy. Well of course, the death toll is under debate; many people are still buried dead & alive in cement rubble & no one yet knows how many have died.

Some media, like the NY Times & BBC, are analyzing death data & the NY Times concludes the most overrepresented in the death toll are men aged 20 to 29, “the population most likely to be militants.” Well that’s okay then!? Apparently being a young man in Gaza makes you an acceptable target for Israeli bombs & shrapnel. The NY Times continues its idiocies: “Human rights groups acknowledge that people killed by Hamas as collaborators & people who died naturally, or perhaps through domestic violence, are most likely counted as well.” Well quite frankly we can understand (even if we completely disbelieve the allegation) that Hamas would shoot someone collaborating with Israeli ethnic cleansing in Gaza. That’s where that “war is hell” thing really fits. We would certainly like the human rights group cited by the NY Times to identify themselves & document such allegations. But are we really expected to believe Palestinian men took time out from dodging Israeli bombs & artillery to beat their wives for not having dinner on the table? Or that a Palestinian who had a heart attack during the bombing just had a ticker than ran out?

Israeli war propaganda made the death of Palestinian children a central theme by targeting children with their bombs & then claiming parents used their beloved kids as human shields–or as Eely-Oily Weasel put it, “child sacrifice.” But there’s fallout to face & Zionist apologists are struggling to cope with the condemnation. So what we’re getting now is the hand-wringing, the angst, what the NY Times calls grappling with the “moral implications” of slaughtering so many Palestinian children. But this kind of moral grappling is only worthy of contempt. Listen to how cleverly this angst is framed: “many Israelis & their supporters abroad, forced to grapple with the moral implications of backing a military campaign against guerrilla fighters embedded in a densely populated area, have embraced the rationale offered by Israel’s government that Islamist militants are guilty of provoking the carnage by launching missiles from residential neighborhoods.” So you see just how deep that grappling goes!? Hamas provoked the slaughter of small children & unarmed men & women. Does that differ from Netan-psycho-yahu who said “Every civilian casualty is a tragedy, a tragedy of Hamas’s own making”?

The NY Times wants us to see the scope of Zionist “radical empathy” (as the liberal Zionist rabbi terms it) by citing Leon Wieseltier, the literary editor of The New Republic who said, “A provocation does not relieve one of accountability for how one responds to it. For this reason, the war has filled me with disquiet, which my sympathetic understanding of Israel’s position has failed to stifle.” Disquiet at ethnic cleansing? Not revulsion? Oh such delicate & refined sensibilities! Disquiet is what you feel when someone farts in public, not what normal people feel when hundreds of people are bombed to death.

Mr Wieseltier goes on: “I have been surprised by the magnitude of the indifference in the Jewish world to the human costs of Israel’s defense against the missiles & the tunnels. Some of the emails I have received have been lunatic in their lack of compassion. According to a poll by the Israel Democracy Institute, 95 percent of Jewish Israelis believe the war in Gaza is just. It is easy to see why: Self-defense is also a moral duty. But only 4 percent believe that the Israeli military has used excessive force. This makes me queasy.” Well good on him for feeling slightly indigested because most of the world have been deeply disturbed–not to mention, horrified–by the sight of Israelis sitting in the hills of Sderot cheering on ethnic cleansing like it was the World Cup.

Israel & it’s media chorus have a quandary on their hands & there is no reason on earth why those who oppose ethnic cleansing should buy this phony hand-wringing & “radical empathy”. Israeli apartheid & ethnic cleansing have been going on for over 66 years & the first time angst appears is when over a million people around the world rose up in opposition.

Flip this stuff the bird & keep marching in solidarity with Palestinian justice & opposition to ethnic cleansing.
