Kashmiri photojournalist Dar Yasin, who just won the Pulitzer for his coverage during the lockdown, has been taking extraordinary photos for several years covering the Kashmiri struggle as well as the war in Afghanistan & the 2017 genocidal siege against the Rohingya. This album of his images of Rohingya refugees, including this photo of a young mother grieving her child who drowned in a boat capsize, are among the most moving, unforgettable, & haunting. What makes Dar Yasin’s work so remarkable is how he captures the humanity of the oppressed & helps overcome our detachment from war, occupation, genocide so that what happens to others around the world is important & personal to all of us.
