Like every historic movement for freedom against war, occupation, colonialism, the Kashmiri movement has sharp disputes & debates amongst themselves about the best way forward. Such conflict is the very nature of political life when consequential questions of life & death are at stake. I don’t know enough about Kashmiri political organizations & their differences to comment & I keep my nose out of the debates (although I would like to understand them) because the role of Kashmiri solidarity activists is to explain the character of the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination to those who do not yet understand its importance. If Kashmiri activists wanted my advice, they would ask for it & that request is not likely to be forthcoming in my lifetime.
