These are a series of 27 torture methods used by the Assad regime against thousands of political prisoners. Most of these methods are from the CIA manual of torture; some of them were used at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. Syrian torturers would have learned the techniques in the several torture prisons the CIA operated in Syria under the Assad regime. Not a one of them is justified even if the prisoner were a member of ISIS. Torture against any prisoner is a human rights crime of unspeakable evil.
