Hafsa Kanjwal writes about the internationalization of the Kashmiri issue & the new social movement that has emerged in solidarity. One can take issue that she does not acknowledge the tireless years of work on social media of Kashmiri activists, both those in Kashmir & those living outside the country, who laid the political groundwork for this new movement. In the view of many, their role is much more considerable than the political recklessness of the Modi gang. The genocidal recklessness may play an important role in alarming governments who don’t want to jeopardize or undermine ‘war on terror’ ideology but less with generating a solidarity movement. She quite correctly elaborates the critical role played now by Kashmiri activists living outside Kashmir in forging & sustaining the new movement.
