As Kashmiris are pointing out, the primary schools are suspended as a protective measure against the coronavirus but 992 athletes from 20 Indian states are converging at Gulmarg for the the national winter games. Have Indian officials done anything to test the athletes for the coronavirus or is the risk to Kashmiris ‘worth it’ to accomplish Indian policy goals?

This is a protest in Bangladesh against India’s actions against Muslims. The Pakistani official who posted the photo today did not give much information about the protest, including the city it was in or when it was held. There are scattered reports of protests elsewhere in solidarity with Indian Muslims, including in Afghanistan. It’s observable, not only from the Arab Springs but from massive worldwide protests in solidarity with the Rohingya & Kashmiris, that Muslims are in the leadership of opposing the rightward shifts toward fascism. That’s one reason why they’re pumping up the rhetoric about the threat of ‘Islamist terrorists’.

Kashmiri friends: I read on Twitter that primary schools in Kashmir are closed till March 31st after just opening a few weeks ago. Is that true & is there a reason for that? Is it concern over the coronavirus?
Despite the occupation & lockdown of Kashmir, the arms trafficking between India & Israel, Israel’s training of Indian special forces in Kashmir, the legalization of persecuting Muslims in India, & the Delhi pogrom against Muslims, the UN just asked India to mediate between Israel & Palestinians. That’s even more contemptible & cynical than asking Trump of the Muslim ban & several US wars to mediate between India & Pakistan over Kashmir.

Kashmiri police are offering rewards to those who rat out fellow Kashmiris for ‘inflammatory’ social media posts. Even though the internet is restored at snail-speed, they are hoping to use internet vigilantes to surveil Kashmiris who have long effectively used social media to educate about their struggle.
Raghu G had to be dispatched to Blockland where all the other nincompoops go since he was impugning Kashmiris, Muslims, Muslim history, & in a poster on his wall identified Afzal Guru with Osama Bin Laden. No one will be sorry to see him go. At 75, I see no point in wasting precious adrenalin on a chump like him.
