Tahir Qadiry, the ‘Afghan joker’ who claimed things are normal in Kashmir because he saw shops open & children walking to school, was asked where he saw the kids since the schools have been closed for months. He responded, “on the way from the airport to here”. The high-security motorcade drove 11 miles from the Srinagar airport to the 5-star Hotel Lalit. Kashmiri friends, how many schools do you think he saw on that stretch of road & how many kids walking to school at 11 am when the plane arrived? The guy doesn’t know when to leave bad enough alone.

Million women marches in Baghdad & across Iraq against US & Iranian military occupation: there isn’t a peep from the Assadist & Stalinist cult about these protests because the uprising of the Iraqi people challenges the entire edifice of Assadist propaganda, especially its uncritical support for Iranian intervention in Syria, Lebanon, & Iraq.

Million woman march in Iraq

A million women marched today in cities across Iraq as part of the ongoing protests against corruption in the country. The march was also a response against calls by prominent Shia cleric Moqtada Al-Sadr's for protests to be segregated.

Our deepest condolences to the families of the 16 Rohingya refugees who drowned in the Bay of Bengal. At least forty are still missing & likely also drowned. It isn’t yet known whether they were being trafficked but they were on a boat that was overfilled by almost three times its capacity. This horror evokes the gruesome memory of the thousands of Rohingya who drowned in 2015 because Thailand refused port to their overloaded un-seaworthy boats. May they Rest In Peace. Human beings should not have to endure such savagery.

Indian activist Satyadeep Satya has received another 30-day ban from Facebook. We don’t bother to ask what alleged offense he committed against community standards since never has a foul word escaped his pen. We know what it’s like out there in the cold–no one knows better than Kashmiris–so we express our respect & solidarity with him, hoping that won’t get us bounced for some infraction.
