My Address… I Live

Where people are savaged
Where there is targeted carnage
Where there is death of innocence
Where bullets speak more than words
Where people live under the shadow of gun
Where bullets talk, and tanks walk
Where force is used against unarmed youth
Where even infants are slayed
Where human rights are paralyzed
Where life starts with death
Where blasts exceed breathes
Where blood flows more than water
Where cries and pains outclass thunder
Where gun smoke is more than clouds
Where dawn starts with death
Where dusk ends with poisonous mist
Where people have faith and courage
Where people are bold and brave
Where people never bow down
Very soon they will be having the Crown…. Insha’Allah

Indian officials continue to make jackasses of themselves in their propagandizing. Modi’s national security adviser Ajit Kumar Doval told reporters, ‘There are about 230 ‘suspected militants’ ready to infiltrate into different parts of Kashmir from Pakistan.’ Actually, there are 40,000 Azad Kashmiri students holding a peaceful #StandWithKashmir sit-in on the border with Kashmir. India can take that terrorism rubbish & put it where the sun don’t shine when even conservative media isn’t buying it.

A Kashmiri friend posted this photo of an exhausted Palestinian paramedic at the Great Return March in Gaza on Al-Quds Day, June 8th, 2018. He posted it in tribute to the doctors, nurses, & paramedics in Kashmir, Palestine, & elsewhere on the front lines of oppression treating bullet injuries, pellet gun injuries, traumatized & injured young & old people whose lives will be forever changed or who have died. We should take a moment to second his tribute, including Médecins Sans Frontières medical staff rescuing refugees in the Mediterranean & Syrian medical staff who continue to treat the injured despite massive & continuous Syrian & Russian bombing of hospitals.

A #StandWithKashmir sit-in of over 40,000 people from Azad Kashmir now going on at Hajira near the Line of Control to denounce the occupation of Kashmir & demand unification of Jammu & Kashmir.

I fail to understand why international media is not covering this march towards LOC in #AzadKashmir. More than 40 thousand people are doing a sit-in at Hajira near LoC from past 24 hours to denounce occupation of Kashmir and to demand implementation of UN resolutions and unification of Jammu & Kashmir. Where is the international media?#StandwithKashmir#Freekashmir#Unitednations#AmnestyInternational

Not to be a know-it-all, but we should be scrupulous about distinguishing the detestable actions of Arab or Muslim political figures in support of India in Kashmir from the Arab peoples themselves. The Arab Spring uprisings, particularly in Egypt, Tunisia, Bahrain, Yemen, Syria are among the most glorious political events & advanced the most progressive democratic ideals of our times–not to mention, the Palestinians. That they have been so violently repressed, including by foreign military force, speaks to their power. Any reckless formulations that identify government figures repressing these movements with those who so courageously fought them should be edited in tribute to those thousands of Arabs who died fighting for freedom or still fight on.
